Right now, staying informed is paramount to managing CoVid-19. And the Internet, used wisely and with caution (see Accentuate the Accurate) is the best way to do that. Elevate is definitely your friend at this confusing and worrisome time.
An Elevate fiber connection allows you to stay informed in a time of crisis, remain calm, and and maintain peace of mind. Local, state, and national governments, and the medical community, recommend limiting the spread of infection by staying at home. High-speed Internet not only facilitates that (makes this easier), it can also be fun. By paying bills online, streaming a movie marathon with friends and family, or learning a skill online you can do your part for containment.
Limiting face-to-face contact can slow the spread of infection, but can be a challenge while trying to maintain normalcy. Like a continuously growing number of businesses, DMEA and Elevate both offer online bill pay, allowing users to keep up with their finances. Check and see if your accounts can be managed with a phone call or web session before deciding to leave the house. (Many banks plan to limit access to drive-up only. Why stay home and bank online?)
Elevate fiber speeds can cure Corona Cabin Fever in a matter of minutes. With the fast processing times, customers can instantly stream millions of videos, TV and movie titles. Disease prevention is the perfect excuse to finally show someone the series you’ve been loving or sit the family down for a movie marathon. Make a game out of the millionth watch of a favorite film; see who remembers the most lines, or pop some popcorn every time a character says a cliché. Homebodies know how to have fun too! Ask your favorite introvert for their idea of a fun day in.
Staying home can mean isolation for some, but high-speed Wi-Fi brings loved ones together from miles apart. Elevate Internet provides crystal clear picture on FaceTime and Skype sessions. While stuck at home, catch up with a friend or a relative and keep your mind off the news. Simultaneously stream a movie and it’s almost like the two of you are watching it on the same sofa.
Learn a skill or indulge an existing passion with all this extra time at home. Learn a foreign language. Apps like DuoLingo make learning easy and achievable without ever leaving the recliner. Many homes have a least one instrument collecting dust. Learn to play it or master a favorite song by searching the web for chords. Virtual instruments teach the finger placement for strings, keyboards, and even woodwinds. Instead of leaving in pursuit of an outside activity, become a virtuoso from your living room.
Although an Elevate connection gives instant access to news updates, it’s healthy to destress and engage your mind otherwise. The Internet is our most vast collection of information and the pathway to learning just about anything. (Although you need to be careful—there are about equal amounts of truth and false information out there. Choose wisely! And if it’s a site that charges for lessons or links, don’t get scammed. Know what you are paying for, before you pay for it!)
Think about anything you want to know about, or learn more about, and there’s a rabbit hole online waiting for you to fall into. Documentaries, articles, and even e-books can be downloaded to any phone or computer with an internet connection, and with Elevate speeds, this can take mere seconds. Any Internet user can become the next trivia night expert on everything from poetry to sports history.
Many of our local venues, churches, and entertainment sources are offering live streaming and podcasts. Tune into our SilverStage Calendar to stay informed.
As Coronavirus enters Colorado, peace of mind can be maintained with the help of high-speed Internet. An Elevate fiber connection can keep you informed, entertained, and in control of your regular financial responsibilities in this time of uncertainty.
