At the eleventh hour in late April, our agency decided to see if community members would be interested in submitting articles about older adults who have made a difference in their community. Since it was written, Wini Tappan has suffered a stroke and is currently in Valley Manor undergoing rigorous therapy. Elder Abuse Awareness

Elder abuse is a problem that needs attention and correction as we neglect, ignore, isolate, and abuse senior citizens—a group often forgotten as “inconvenient” or no longer wanted.  “Senior Citizen” is a dirty word to some. “Elderly” means “old,” another way of saying “no longer needed or wanted.” It’s a on-going, never-ending world pandemic, claiming way more lives than Covid.
