Art in Isolation: Coping with Quarantine
In a time of “social distancing” the Wright Opera House invites you to reconnect through our new experimental exhibition called Art in Isolation: Coping with Quarantine. Just because we are all stuck inside doesn’t mean our art has to be. We want you to create diverse works of art to share and showcase what coping with quarantine has looked like and felt like for you. We are all dealing (and not dealing) with the current social, political and health situation facing the world today in different ways and art is one of the greatest tools we have to connect us and share our individual experiences.
This call is open to all ages and levels of art-making. The Wright will print submitted works on copy paper (8.5×11 / black & white) and will install them on a free-standing frame in the WOH. The art will also be shared in a virtual gallery on the WOH website in May. The goal is to make one large work that is made up of individual submissions from Ouray County residents and beyond.
All forms of creative expression are encouraged. You can submit photographs, digital art, paintings, drawings, printmaking, sculptures, installations, poems, writings, music, performances and more. Please submit your work in .pdf or .jpg format. For the purposes of this exhibit, The Wright is asking that all works be submitted in digital .pdf or .jpg files. We will not be accepting any physical works or objects.
(The Wright reserves the right of refusal for any piece of art at our discretion)
